The group consisted of three keyboardists, Ron Altback, Sherman Kelly and Davy Doc Robinson, plus Ed Tuleja (guitar), Tony Cahill (bass), Rod Novack (saxophone) and David Montgomery (drums). Only one other, A Little Bit Like Magic, charted, reaching number 91 in 1973. The original line-up recorded one album titled after the hit single, which reached number 136 in the US. The group made other singles, but by the mid-70s had disbanded. A new version of the group was formed in 1976, and included four original members. With support from Beach Boys members Carl Wilson and Mike Love, they were signed to A&M Records and made another album, but, failing to achieve any hits, they subsequently broke up.

King Harvest's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates. King Harvest recorded the classic hit Dancing in the Moonlight and later recorded and performed with The Beach Boys. We recorded an album a while ago called The Prairie Dogs - Country Classics which included Johnny Lee’s Looking for Love. We were surprised recently when asked if we would license Looking for Love for use in the movie "OK Buckeroos, The Life, Music and Good Times of Jerry Jeff Walker". Jerry Jeff, the original outlaw, wrote Mr. Bojangles, introduced Jimmy Buffett to Key West, co-wrote Railroad Lady, and recorded the classics Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother and Desperados Waiting for a Train.
