The songs are textually orchestrated with strings and harps, conducted and arranged by Johnny Mandel, David Matthews and Grammy Award winner Don Sebesky
Wishful Thinking is a 1985 remix album by the synthpop band Propaganda. Originally released November 1985, Wishful Thinking was initially put together as a promo for the American club market, composed of remixes of tracks from the album A Secret Wish. It was compiled by Paul Morley and tape operator Bob Kraushaar without input from the group themselves, who objected to its release in Europe.

In 1979, Global Music released another album called WISHFUL THINKING. This album contained some new material by John, Kevin and Tony, one of which was called AMERICA which was also a very big seller in Germany, making the charts in many regions. Prior to 1969, WISHFUL THINKING, were recording with ex-Shadows drummer and record producer TONY MEEHAN. Between 1965 and 1969 the group released 9 singles and a live album.
And Cherry's collaborators on her first full-length in 16 years are wild horses in their own right. The freewheeling, punk-influenced Scandanavian jazz trio the Thing (named for a Don Cherry song) are to avant-garde jazz what Nico Muhly basically is to classical music: preternaturally talented upstarts with respect on their highbrow home turf but also plenty of indie cred by association.
Wishful Thinking started off as The Emeralds in the mid-sixies. They released three singles during 1963-65. The group changed their name to Wishful Thinking in 1966 with the line-up Roy Daniels on vocals, Terry New on lead guitar, Roger Charles on bass and Brian Allen on drums. A new lineup with Kevin Scott replacing Daniels and John Franklin replacing Terry New is featured on the most of the singles released on Decca by the band in the sixties. A live album "Live Vol: 1". was also released. The song "Hiroshima" also became a minor hit in some European countries, and the album was later re-released in 1979 just with the band name as the title. Compared to their sixties recordings, the sound has changed quite markedly.
