Although the samples are an accurate reflection of the album, maybe it would be helpful to say that taken as a whole, Asmussen's jazz seems almost of another time and place. Evocative of earlier periods (1930's, & and 50's), still it vibrantly embodies a contemporary resonance. In short, & Fiddling' is an excellent introduction to a man who deserved (and deserves) more attention. 3 people found this helpful.
