Brooklyn Bridge is a y hybrid bridge in New York City that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is one of the oldest suspension bridges in United States (completed in 1883) and a first steel-wire suspension bridge in the world. Brooklyn Bridge was designed by John Augustus Roebling. While conducting some of the last measuring across the East River ferry crushed his foot against the piling. First step was building of solid foundations for the bridge. That was achieved by using caissons, closed wooden boxes that were placed under water and filled with compressed air that allowed workers to dig the riverbed. Problem with caissons is a danger of getting so-called caisson disease - a decompression sickness that appears in construction workers when they leave compressed atmosphere to fast and enter normal atmosphere.

Brooklyn Bridge is the eponymous debut album from the American band The Brooklyn Bridge.

Quite a few of us crossing the Brooklyn Bridge this morning took a moment to stop and watch the ☁️ clouds roll by and the ☀️ sun shine on our beautiful bridge! . K. 63. Snow removal along the pedestrian and pathway.

The Brooklyn Bridge ranks as one of the greatest engineering feats of the 19th century and remains one of New York's most popular and well known landmarks. The impressive bridge spans the East river between Brooklyn and Manhattan and stretches for a length of 5989 ft, about . km. The span between the large towers measures 1595. This made the Brooklyn Bridge the world's largest suspension bridge. The most noticeable feature of the Brooklyn Bridge are the two masonry towers to which the many cables are attached

The Brooklyn Bridge was perhaps the most remarkable engineering feat of its era and is still used by thousands of commuters every da. Of all the engineering advances in the 1800s, the Brooklyn Bridge stands out as perhaps the most famous and most remarkable. It took more than a decade to build, cost the life of its designer, and was constantly criticized by skeptics who predicted the entire structure was going to collapse into New York's East River. When it opened on May 24, 1883, the world took notice and the entire United States celebrated. The great bridge, with its majestic stone towers and graceful steel cables, isn't just a beautiful New York City landmark.

View of the Brooklyn Entrance to Brooklyn Bridge (walkway is in the middle of the car lanes). Depending on where you are coming from, there is a shorter alternative route, though there is a shortcut. In 2018, an average of 26,800 people crossed the bridge on any given weekend day. Second, the pedestrian walkway is somewhat narrow and you can only walk as fast as the flow of the crowd. If you want to walk faster, it is possible to pass people, but be careful. To pass people you may have to walk in the bike lane for a moment.
