It seems like every mention of Ivy League TX’s new LP Transparency opens with the sentiment Title Fight . ! That’s not an entirely fair statement. While some songs do sound like something Title Fight could have easily collaborated on, other songs are purely a creation of Ivy League Tx’s own communal mind. The album as a whole doesn’t have much creative or ground breaking material; instead, it’s a half hour of fast-as-you-can drums, introspective lyrics, and wailed singing. Because of this, there isn’t anything truly bad, but it’s not very memorable either

Ivy League toy with dual vocals and slight screamo touches at times, and shine even in the more experimental parts of the record. Egress" is testament to this via its post-hardcore instrumental tone.

Ivy League TX are streaming a new song titled Losing Sleep, which can be heard below. Their new album Transparency arrives June 11 on 6131 Records. Ivy League TX is the next band falling under their formidable sphere of influence, based on their debut album "Transparency". Transparency" sounds so remarkably similar to "Floral Green" that I had to check multiple times that I wasn't listening to a collection of leftover songs from that album's recording sessions. Songs like "Watch You Suffer" are delivered by Josh Huff with a similar half-shouted, half-screamed vocal style, drawing equally much from post-hardcore as he does from punk rock bands like Make Do And Mend. That is also the case here, but only partially, because throughout "Transparency" Ivy League TX display an ability to play almost on par with Title Fight, and this is only their debut album. Let's put it this way: if your songs sound like songs from the "Floral Green" sessions, you're gonna be good no matter what.
