Cheech & Chong are a Grammy Award–winning comedy duo consisting of Richard "Cheech" Marin and Tommy Chong. The duo found commercial and cultural success in the 1970s and 1980s with their stand-up routines, studio recordings, and feature films, which were based on the hippie and free love era, and especially drug and counterculture movements, most notably their love for cannabis.

Cheech And Chong is the 1971 self-titled debut album of Cheech & Chong, produced by Lou Adler. It features "Dave", one of their most famous routines. The album peaked at on the Billboard 200 the week of March 4, 1972. The album was nominated for Best Comedy Recording at the 14th Grammy Awards, but lost to Lily Tomlin's This Is a Recording.
Others were Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie (1980), Nice Dreams (1981), Things Are Tough All Over (1982), Cheech and Chong: Still Smoking (1983), and The Corsican Brothers (1984). Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Tommy began his entertainment career as a musician in a Canadian-based rhythm and blues band. Eventually, he landed a gig with the Vancouvers and co-wrote the band’s 1960’s hit, Does Your Mama Know About Me. From here, Chong eventually turned towards the life as an actor. Chong recently released his new book entitled Cheech and Chong: The Unauthorized Autobiography about the exploits of the infamous duo’s smoke-filled world. Earlier this year, the highly anticipated, award winning documentary A/K/A Tommy Chong was released worldwide.
Cheech & Chong – The duo met in Vancouver, British Columbia in the late 1960s. Chong was a Canadian citizen, and Cheech had moved there from Southern California to avoid the draft at the height of the Vietnam War, the pair performed stand-up shows, released many successful comedy record albums, and starred in a series of low-budget films. Some of their comedy routines and songs include Earache My Eye, Basketball Jones, Santa Claus and His Old Lady. 11. Los Cochinos – Los Cochinos is a 1973 comedy album recorded by Cheech & Chong. The Spanish term cochino is a way of referring to a pig, as it also means dirty, in contrast to cerdo. In this context, cochino equates to the American derogatory term pig for policeman, the album cover of Los Cochinos had concept origination, design and art direction by Peter Corriston.
