The Fab Four is a California-based tribute band paying homage to The Beatles. Founded in 1997 by Ron McNeil-John Lennon impersonator and President of The Fab Four Corp-the group began performing Beatles music throughout southern California. They have brought the music of the Beatles to many places worldwide, including Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Mexico and Brazil, covering nearly the entire Beatles songbook, in addition to the Beatles' solo material.

Unfortunately Tolkien declined but now over 50 years later The Beatles/Lord Of The Rings connection has resurfaced following news that esteemed Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson is to direct a brand new Beatles film based on their final album Let It Be featuring over 55 hours of unseen studio footage shot in 1969. It will mark the latest celluloid chapter of The Beatles story to go alongside five of the most notable ones that we’ve highlighted below.

We decided to do the Fab Four Taxi Tour over the Magical Mystery Tour as we were attracted to the more personal touch of the tour. For £45, you can hire a black cab which shall take you around all those iconic Beatles sites. Places we went to included Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, the Fab Four's homes, etc. Perhaps the highlight of the tour was S. eters Church yard - where The Quarrymen played in 1957 and John consequently met Paul. It was just fantastic. Our driver (Darren!) was great! He was funny (he did great Paul impressions, haha!), friendly and certainly knew his Beatle facts

Lennon and McCartney, in particular, had grown increasingly despondent about the Beatles’ chances of making it in the business. It was, indeed, a far cry from their earlier, halcyon days, as John remembered them in his own words, when I would yell out, ‘Where are we going, fellows?’ They would say, ‘To the top, Johnny,’ in pseudo-American voices. And I would say, ‘Where is that, fellows?’ And they would say, ‘To the toppermost of the poppermost!’ But those days were long gone.

But why is his Liverpool home significant, and where else did members of the Fab Four live? Climbing out of bed one morning, a teenage Harrison left his modest three-bedroom terraced home and went to catch a bus to school. It was the late 1950s and, according to Beatles legend, what happened next was a series of chance meetings which led to the formation of the world's most famous band. Now, 65 years since Harrison's parents Harold and Louise bought the former council house, the property will go under the hammer at a venue equally synonymous with the Fab Four - The Cavern Club. Image caption George Harrison's former home will go under the hammer at an auction at the Cavern Club.
