Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" is a rock song written by Rick Derringer. It was first recorded in 1970 by Johnny Winter And, Johnny Winter's band from 1970–71, of which Derringer was a member. In 1973, Derringer recorded a solo version and it became his only Top 40 chart hit as a solo artist, peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 23. Both Winter and Derringer have recorded multiple live versions of the song, and several other artists have recorded covers.

Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s from musical styles such as gospel, jump blues, jazz, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues, along with country music. While elements of what was to become rock and roll can be heard in blues records from the 1920s and in country records of the 1930s, the genre did not acquire its name until 1954.

Rock 'N' Roll is the eighth studio album by the band Motörhead, released 5 September 1987, and their last studio album with the GWR label, as more legal issues enthralled the band with yet another label. Reaching only No. 34 in the UK Albums Chart, Rock 'N' Roll was, in that respect, the worst performing of all of Motörhead's Top 40 chart hits. It would see the return of 'classic line up' drummer "Philthy Animal" Taylor, albeit only for a few more years before being fired again.

Album All American Boy. Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo Lyrics. All right! I couldn't stop moving when it first took hold It was a warm spring night at the old town hall There was a group called The Jokers, they were layin' it down 'Cha know I'm never gonna lose that funky sound. Rock and roll, hoochie koo (Rock and roll, hoochie koo) Lordy mama, light my fuse (Light my fuse) Rock and roll, hoochie koo (Rock and roll, hoochie koo) Truck on out and spread the news. The skeeters started buzzin' 'bout this time a year I'm going 'round back, said she'd meet.

Rock and Roll' to satisfy the rock 'n' roll that I was supposed to be bringing into the picture, and 'Hoochie Koo' to satisfy the king of blues sensibility that Johnny was supposed to maintain. And it worked out great. Derringer’s solo version of Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo has appeared in several films, including The Spirit of '76 (1990), Rush (1991), Dazed and Confused (1993), Stag (1997), and What a Girl Wants (2003).

i just found a super rare pressing of this boot that is from the late 1970s and is on beautiful multi color vinyl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is the same show, same track listing and same sleeve paper insert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was told there was no more then 50 of these pressed sometime in the late 1970s, so far there is no record of this here on discogs but i think a nailed a goldmine, i got this copy off a very reputable e bay seller that i have bought great who stuff from over the years..........................................
Fordrellador
this is a bit of an odd boot, this has some of the la forum 1973 quadrophenia gig that appears like this in parts on a number of other boots, the second disc is a 12 inch 45 wpm single w/ 5 vintage who tracks that where recorded around 1965 to 67 someplace as there is nothing printed on the sleeve that gives name of the venue, location or year side two of the first lp track three is where the 60s stuff breaks out as you can see so this is one of those boots that are from anywhere from two to three different gigs, the sound is good but you have to remember to turn your speed to 45wpm when throwing on the second disc wich is a 12 inch, the first disc sounds good but it is the tape that varies with the speed, this is a typical late 1970s bootleg lp set, the sleeve is really nice but very thin.................
Authis
this was another great k&s release i picked up some years back, nice color vinyl, the live tracks are from LA from the quad tour in 1973 and there is the one rare studio outtake of mary ann with the shaky hand, really nice super, super rare...............

Speed varies at different points throughout sides 2-4. Sometimes sped up sometimes slowed down.
