Silvertown is a district and forms part of the Port of London in the London Borough of Newham, in east London, England. It lies on the north bank of the Thames and a major £. billion redevelopment of the area was approved in 2015. It was named after the factories established by S. W. Silver and Co. established by Stephen William Silver in 1852, and is now dominated by the Tate & Lyle sugar refinery and the John Knight ABP animal rendering plant.

This archetypal California Ramblers band was based in New York City. One of the front men was Adrian Rollini, an accomplished musician even in his teens. He played with Bix Beiderbecke in the famous autumn 1927 sessions in New York. His throbbing bass saxophone can be heard driving the music along. The California Ramblers playes 1920's popular hits such as Five Foot Two (Eyes of Blue) and Butter and Egg Man. Although the California Ramblers' heyday was a few short years, Rollini went on the enjoy a lengthy career as musician and band leader.
