Linda Ronstadt - Listen to Linda Ronstadt on Deezer. Despite strong roots in country music, Linda Ronstadt has operated in many different musical genres and has a host of awards to prove it. Of Mexican heritage Ronstadt grew up in Tucson, Arizona, but embarked on her music career after gravitating to California in the mid-1960s. Home Grown in 1969 - an influential fusion of rock and country that subsequently became known as the first alternative country album.

It peaked at on Billboard's Pop Album Chart and on Billboard's Country Album Chart. It is considered to be a front-runner in the country rock music genre.

Backing Vocals – Andrew Gold (tracks: B1, B2), Kenny Edwards (tracks: B1, B2), Linda Ronstadt (tracks: A2, A4, B1, B4). Bass – Kenny Edwards (tracks: A1, A2, B1 to B3). Design – Rod Dyer.

Nonetheless, Linda Ronstadt is a voice that rings from my earliest memories, so it’s impossible for me to listen to her music without some nostalgia. Linda Ronstadt’s Heart Like a Wheel (1974) opens with You’re No Good, which was a big enough hit for me to remember hearing when I was about 5 years old. I thought the lyrics Baby, you’re no good were funny, because to me baby meant those humans younger than myself who were still sucking down bottles and crawling around in diapers. Even now, it makes me laugh to imagine Ronstadt is playfully chastising an ornery infant.
