Richard Strauss, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Zubin Mehta - Also Sprach Zarathustra album FLAC

Zubin Mehta's amazing 1968 recording for Decca of Richard Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra has been reissued for this sonic spectacular from Lim, and the results of the label's K2 HD mastering are simply astonishing. Bearing in mind that this was an exceptional analog recording in the first place, and that the conversion process has preserved the performance's radiant ambience and resonance, this recording sounds just as clear and deep as any Super Audio CD or audio DVD would, but with the difference that the sound is just as warm as any LP.

Composed By – Richard Strauss. Conductor – Zubin Mehta. Liner Notes – E. C. Stone. Orchestra – Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Violin – David Frisina. Made in England By The Decca Record Co. Ltd. London. Wide-band" black labels with silver lettering.

Originally recorded in 1968 with Zubin Mehta and featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra "Also Sprach Zarathustra" is guaranteed to make or break your audiophile sound system. This music written by Richard Strauss and based on Nietzsche's famous book of the same name has been used in various movies including: "2001 A Space Odyssey". 1. Also sprach Zarathustra (Thus Spoke Zoroaster), tone poem for orchestra, Op. 30 (TrV 176): Prelude (Sonnenaufgang). 2. 30 (TrV 176): Von den Hinterweltiern. 3. 30 (TrV 176): Von der großen Sehnsucht. 4. 30 (TrV 176): Von den Freuden und Leidenschaften.

Richard Strauss was musically influenced by Friedrich Nietzsche's writings. He greatly admired his philosophy, particularly the theory of 'Superman'. He believed in it. This belief led him to portray musically the lives of many superheroes and mostly it was he (autobiographical) in the garb of those heroes. These include Don Juan, Don Quixote, Till Eulenspiegel, Ein Heldenleben and Also Sprach Zarathustra. He started writing this magnificent symphonic poem on 4th February 1896 and completed it on 24th August the same year. I make a special mention of an extra ordinary performance by Zubin Mehta leading the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1969. David Frisina played the solo violin with aplomb. As a Zoroastrian, Zubin Mehta has grasped the entire content of Nietzsche and Strauss. He is a Parsi and has delivered a bravura performance.
