George Harrison - Dark Horse album FLAC

Dark Horse (George Harrison song). Dark Horse" is a song by English musician George Harrison, released as the title track to his 1974 solo album on Apple Records. The song was the album's lead single in North America, becoming a top-20 hit in the United States, but it was Harrison's first single not to chart in Britain when issued there in February 1975.

Best of Dark Horse 1976–1989 is a compilation album by English musician George Harrison, released in October 1989.

Dark Horse is the fifth studio album by English musician George Harrison, released on Apple Records in December 1974 as the follow-up to Living in the Material World. Although keenly anticipated on release, Dark Horse is associated with the controversial North American tour that Harrison staged with co-headliner Ravi Shankar in November and December that year

George Harrison 's third studio album since the Beatles' break-up came at the end of "a bad domestic year", as he describes it in his 1980 autobiography. From the middle of 1973, with his marriage to Pattie Boyd all but over, Harrison had immersed himself in his work, particularly on developing the acts he would eventually sign to his new record label, Dark Horse Records − Ravi Shankar and a hitherto unknown group called Splinter By May, Harrison had agreed distribution terms with A&M Records and was therefore able to formally launch Dark Horse Records, although he would remain contracted to Apple as a solo artist, like the other Beatles, until January 1976. After announcing the staging of the Music Festival from India in September 1974, Harrison also confirmed that he planned to tour North America, together with Ravi Shankar's ensemble, during November and December.

George Harrison’s first full solo tour following the breakup of The Beatles began in November 1974, prior to the release of his fifth studio album. This was also the first tour of North America by any of the four Beatles and, like his Concert For Bangladesh, this 1974 tour, which began in Canada on 2 November 1974, included Ravi Shankar the Indian master-musician. Work on the Dark Horse album began in in November 1973, at home in Friar Park. Sessions initially used the same line-up of musicians who appeared on Living In The Material World – Ringo Starr, Jim Keltner, Klaus Voormann, and Gary Wright and Nicky Hopkins alternating on keyboards. Recorded at this time were the basic tracks for ‘Ding Dong, Ding Dong’, an early version of the title track and ‘So Sad’.

With his first solo tour looming ahead in November and December of 1974, George Harrison felt impelled to rush out a new album, and even a steadily worsening case of laryngitis wouldn't stop him. Would that it did, for the appallingly weak state of his voice would torpedo this album and the tour, to his great embarrassment. Hari's on Tour (Express)" - with Tom Scott's .
