The Shacks exciting debut EP contains the hit single "This Strange Effect" (yes, I became familiar with it from that Apple i-phone TV commercial)! That song is wonderful...blissful!!! Originally written by Ray Davies, but never recorded by The Kinks (they did, however, perform it live). It was originally recorded by Dave Berry in 1965. There are around 6 covers of it. None have the mesmerizing & totally captivating charm of The Shack's version!! (Yet another cover better than the original)!! The extra nice surprise is the rest of The Shacks EP is also extremely well-done. It sounds like 1965, yet updated & fresh!! It's exciting to hear a sound that is fresh yet, still, a throwback to much easier times! Well done, Shacks!!! I hope & believe we'll be hearing a lot more from this super-talented duo!!

This is wonderful stuff. Great songs. Great vocals. And really great fun with the production. This'll be your new favourite record until their debut LP lands in the not so distant future.
