Davie Allan is an American guitarist best known for his work on soundtracks to various teen and biker movies in the 1960s. Allan's backing band is almost always the Arrows (. Davie Allan & the Arrows), although the Arrows have never had a stable lineup. Allan grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, and learned to play guitar as a teenager.

Skaterdater is a 1965 American short film. It was produced by Marshal Backlar, and written and directed by Noel Black and was the winner of the Palme d'Or for Best Short Film at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Short Subject category Skaterdater It was the first film on skateboarding. It was distributed theatrically, both domestically and internationally, by United Artists.
Davie Allan & the Arrows recorded four original albums for Mike Curb's Tower and Sidewalk labels between 1964-1968 and scored numerous (nearly 20) soundtracks for American International Pictures' reigning B-movie warlords of the '60s during the same period, including the mother of all biker flicks, The Wild Angels starring Peter Fonda (pre-Easy Rider) and Nancy Sinatra; it was directed. by Roger Corman, who picked Allan based on the strength of the band's debut album, Apache '65 (featuring Billy Strange on rhythm guitar) and early singles.
The music was especially catchy. I've seen a couple of versions of the main tune. One on a Davie Allen album and another by a surf band from Finland, of all places, Laika and the Cosmonauts. these guys are good). Nothing like the original though.
