Degradation Trip Tracklist. 1. Psychotic Break Lyrics.
These two qualities are so prominent that some may have a hard time getting around them, but serious listeners and longtime fans will find it much easier to get past the surface and appreciate the album as Cantrell's best record since Dirt. True, it does bear the hallmark of a guitarist who is allowed to indulge his instrumental ideas, with several tracks being as epic as a classic prog rock number, yet this is a good thing since not only are his ideas frequently intriguing, but they are balanced with shorter songs - cuts that aren't necessarily snappier, but certainly more concise.
Degradation Trip is the second solo album by the Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, released on June 18, 2002. It is considered to be a tribute album or dedicated to the group's fallen singer Layne Staley, who died two months before the release of the album. The sound is instantly reminiscent of Cantrell's former band because, of course, he was instrumental in creating the slow, brooding minor-key grinds topped with flat vocal harmonies that were the group's stock in trade
Degradation Trip (CD, Album). Degradation Trip (Cass, Album, Dol). Metal Mind Productions.
Degradation Trip is his second solo album and was originally released in 2002. On the album, Cantrell enlisted drummer Mike Bordin (Faith No More) and bassist Robert Trujillo (Metallica) for some grungy heaviness. The album was dedicated to Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley, who sadly died two months prior to this release in 2002. Degradation Trip featured the two singles "Anger Rising" and "Angel Eyes", and was well received by critics bearing strong resemblance to his work in Alice in Chains
