Allen Ginsberg: First Blues by Mark Corroto, published on April 2, 2006. As I listen to this two-CD recording by the late Allen Ginsberg, I cannot help thinking about Dick Cheney. The American vice president might just be the exact polar opposite of Allen Ginsberg, kind of a beat Dr. Evil. I suspect he's never heard Ginsberg read his unexpurgated Buddhist poetry or joined a sing-along with his harmonium.

Listen free to Allen Ginsberg – First Blues (Going To San Diego, Vomit Express and more). Legendary Beat poet Allen Ginsberg explores the fusion of poetry and blues in this rare 1970s recording. Called a 'venerated bard of resistance', Ginsberg ambitiously sought 'to know the working of the mind' through poetry.

Beat Poet Allen Ginsberg (1926 – 1997) put together his first music album ‘First Blues‘ over a series of studio visits between 1971 – 1983. The initial decision to go into the studio to record was largely down to Bob Dylan who at that time Allen had not seen for several years. That all changed when they were re-united at a friends wedding and their friendship developed again.
