According to Jerry . Thee Slayer Hippy, who was in possession of the master tapes for this album, licensed the re-release to Epitaph without telling the rest of the band after he had been kick out of Poison Idea. All royalty statements were sent to Thee Slayer Hippy and the rest of the band was unpaid, so Jerry considers this release a bootleg version.

Tom Pig Champion Roberts (guitar), Glen Estes (bass), and Dean Johnson (drums). Inspired by Black Flag and other early Southern California hardcore acts, they were further influenced by Discharge and Los Angeles's the Germs.

Is this release really different from previously published release 12600207?
Quendant
Someone contact me if you're ever wanting to sell this!..
Xellerlu
I think it's a Fanclub edition. Also a boot, but it's masters from CD and Sound ist great.
Risa
Shitty sounding bootleg. Band has warned about this version - do not buy!
Wenes
This is a BOOTLEG! Do not buy. Poison Idea revives no money from the sale of this crappy pressing.
Marirne
For sure there's another unofficial (german?) edition on red vinyl and with scratched out runouts, labeled American Leather. If i remember well this started to circulate around 2013.
Jelar
bought this when it came out, and so did 2 other friends of mine. all 3 of those copies have the same skip/jump right before the second verse in "Plastic Bomb" . anyone else have that same flaw in their copy?
Goldenfang
Yes, I can confirm it as well. In fact, I just wanted to post the same question here after all these years, and buy another copy of the same pressing. I guess I'll definitely have to buy another issue.

I just realized today that the guy with the gun to his head is lounge singer Tiny Tim. It's from the back of his "God Bless Tiny Tim". This adds another layer of humorhttps://www.discogs.com/Tiny-Tim-God-Bless-Tiny-Tim/master/244830

I read that Tiny Tim tried to sue them but dropped the case when he realized they had no money.

Important note: THIS record is not a new reissue of "Feel the darkness". The info says that the vinyl and the lyric sheet are from the original reissue from 2004. See matrix # for proof. Only the wrap-around cover and the badge are new, so it's a limited edition but not a reissue. As far as I know it's a new edition made with some leftover copies from the 2004 pressing because some of the old covers got damaged. It's definitely not a new pressing.

As stated before, this edition is clearly taken from a digital master, no doubt at all. You can find it for a reasonable price however, so it depends on what you're looking for. Packaging is okay, nothing special, cardboard is not heavy weight but looks okay. Insert is rather simple but pretty cool. Go for an original if you find something reasonably priced, or get this one if you're not a die-hard of the band.Amazing record beside that, the best Hardcore Punk record ever, according to me, and to many others. Legend.

I've owned this album on CD since it came out, so I was eager to snag it on vinyl to revisit this classic in full analog glory. Unfortunately, it sounds no different than the CD, which leads me to believe this vinyl is from a digital master. I'm not sure if this is an issue only with this reissue or whether all past vinyl editions were also digitally sourced. Regardless, I'm disappointed.
Kuve
As one can see...this is only a reissue, not RM. Only one version is.

The sound is clearly from a digital master, i confirm. Identical to CD version.I don't know about the original editions, i think it's the same, didn't managed to find infos online about the sound...
