The 25-track collection, packed with classic photographs, is a must-have for Prestige aficionados as well as young fans wanting to build their jazz libraries. The Very Best of Prestige Records opens a wide window on a 20-year period when jazz made great evolutionary strides, from bebop to soul jazz. Phillips writes in the album’s liner notes that compiling The Very Best of Prestige Records was a challenge. It was easy to come up with long lists of albums and tracks worthy of inclusion, as there are so many all-time jazz classics in the Prestige catalog, he says. Deciding what to ultimately omit was the difficult part, as countless additional recordings exist in the voluminous Prestige vault (not included here) that could rightfully be considered amongst ‘the very best’ of not only the legendary imprint specifically, but of recorded jazz in general.
Prestige is the sixth studio album and eleventh overall by Puerto Rican reggaeton singer-songwriter Daddy Yankee. It was released through El Cartel Records and Sony Music on September 11, 2012. The third single "Pasarela" was released on July 10, 2012. It was nominated for Urban Album of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Awards of 2013.
