Summer 2016 saw the release of Ralph McTell and Wizz Jones’ first recording together after a 50 year musical friendship, aptly titled About Time. They had such a great time playing and performing together, they decided to go back into the studio, and the result is About Time Too, released November 2017. The songs we selected only made it onto the album if they have either great melodies, interesting lyrics or room for an unusual arrangement. Hopefully there’s at least one ‘new’ old song for everyone said Wizz. Ralph McTell is a singer songwriter, best known for his hits Streets of London and Clare to Here.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Ralph McTell - Ralph Albert & Sydney (1977). Known for his virtuoso guitar style, he is primarily a prolific and gifted songwriter. With a style that invites you into a unique world, he weaves a narrative that is both significant and poignant. Ralph made his debut in 1968 with the album ‘Eight Frames a Second’ and in 1974 the release of "Streets of London" earned him an Ivor Novello Award
Through the years, McTell has been presented in a variety of settings on record, but no production can match the charm or the power created simply by his rich baritone, often intricate guitar playing, and natural, folksy between-song patter. It's amazing how McTell is able to create a coffeehouse setting in a large concert hall, and even more incredible that he's able to evoke that same feeling through a recording. Tender and smart, melancholy and funny, Ralph, Sydney & Albert is nothing less than a triumph of the folk singer/songwriter tradition. The 1997 Leola version features.
