Caroline Spence - Spades & Roses album FLAC
With Spades & Roses, Spence shows off an impressive ability to spin singular moments into memorable songs. The record's lead single "Hotel Amarillo" brings the listener into the isolation and introspection found in a cold hotel room. But for writers like Spence, it's the jumping-off point for something bigger. In every track on Spades & Roses, Caroline's sweet but powerful voice drives home narratives that are blunt, authentic and clever. From the painfully truthful "You Don't Look So Good (Cocaine)" to the hesitant ballad "Slow Dancer," she unravels the tangled feelings we all find ourselves trying to manage at one time or another.
Two years ago, Rolling Stone Country named Caroline Spence an artist to know ahead of her debut album Somehow. It was a beautiful piece of folk that set the bar high for any of her future endeavors of hers. Luckily, her sophomore release Spades & Roses pole vaults over that bar with ease. Spades & Roses mixes haunting gothic bluegrass with themes of Americana to create a piece of work that will make you fall in love with the genre again. rooftops in glamorous cities, stubbornly chasing their deepest dreams against all better judgment. With her poetic clarity and precision of detail, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter reveals the risk in setting out on an unconventional path, and subtly makes the case for living your own truth without compromise or fear. For Spence, the making of Mint Condition was an act of both self-reckoning and discovery . Her debut for Rounder Records, Mint Condition follows Spades and Roses-a 2017 release praised by American Songwriter as an album of stunning beauty and lasting impact.

Genre: Singer-Songwriter. Another cracking country/folk album with solid female vocals. Carolines voice is strong and clear all the way through, and almost every song is instantly catchy or at least has something memorable/different to offer. It's a little safe, especially when compared to something like Giddens' recent country/folk album but this album is really nice. Or consider a donation? Track List.
