While there's nothing new on this album, culled from five previous Dervish outings, it does act as both an excellent introduction to one of Ireland's best bands, and also a way of closing the chapter on the first ten years of the group's existence. The music, all traditional except for "The Hungry Rock" and "The World's End," dances gloriously, with sparkling instrumental work and some superb singing by the criminally underrated Cathy Jordan.

Their first album was The Boys of Sligo, but it was the album Harmony Hill which won them widespread critical acclaim and was described by many as a landmark Irish traditional album. 1991 singer and bodhran player Cathy Jordan joined the band. Name That Tune! on Dervish DecadeCD? Unless I am blind, Dervish doesn’t seem to name the tunes in their sets on their liner notes
Dervish's fifth album, "Midsummer's Night", was released in 1999. In 2001 Dervish released "Decade", a compilation of tracks from their first five albums. In 2003 they released "Spirit", followed by "A Healing Heart" in 2006. Dervish performed as the Irish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 Eurovision Song Contest 2007.
