Woody Allen (born Allan Stewart Konigsberg, December 1, 1935) is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker and playwright, whose career spans more than five decades. He worked as a comedy writer in the 1950s, writing jokes and scripts for television and publishing several books of short humor pieces. In the early 1960s, Allen began performing as a stand-up comedian, emphasizing monologues rather than traditional jokes.

Woody Allen, or Master Woodrow Konisberg the III (as he so blatantly refers to himself) is here at his best. This album truly defines the word "classic," weaving bits that span five years and three comedy clubs seamlessly into one production. Although Allen has been quoted as saying he hated working nightclubs, you wouldn't know it from this recording. The Stand-Up Comic album, covering the years 1964-1969, consists of the typical rigmarole that can be found in most of his movies: the cause of his neurosis in the past, current states of neurosis, and childhood memories that will undoubtedly lead to future neurosis. And, of course, don't forget a true hallmark of Allen's: "Woodrow's" lack of luck with the ladies. Woody Allen sets up a bit something like this.

WOODY ALLEN standup comic, 2 x lp, MIM 2-8314. 1979 Canada Press on casablanca records, stereo. Sleeve is in excellent condition with a strong uncrushed spine and minimal storage wear marks. All records will be posted with extra card stiffeners. If you feel the album is not as described I will give a full refund.

This is very early Woody Allen, very, very early. Stand-Up Comic is a compilation of three performances from 1964 thru 1968. The first part was recorded at Mr. Kelley’s in Chicago in ’64. Part two was from the Shadows in DC the same year while the last part was 4 years down the road and from Eugene’s in San Francisco. How’s does that parallel his movie career you may ask? Well, that is a great way to put a nice time stamp on things. His first screenplay was What’s New, Pussycat? I might even be better off saying kind of in this case.
