Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".

Before the world knew Bob Dylan, songs were inevitably about a boy-girl relationship or about dancing. Due to his folk background, Bob Dylan songs had a poetic and existential lyric content which after him was incorporated into rock culture. That's how we can find among Dylan fans legendary artists such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jack White and even Guns N'Roses, who achieved great success with their own version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door

By 1989, many Bob Dylan fans were convinced that Dylan had completely lost his songwriting muse. His last two albums, Knocked Out Loaded and Down in the Groove, were arguably the two worst works of his career. In what seemed to be an ominous sign, most of the songs on those discs were either covers or tunes he wrote with others. Thankfully, Dylan realized he needed to completely rethink his career. In 1988, he began his Never Ending Tour (which is still going), and he took advice from Bono and teamed up with producer Daniel Lanois for a new album

Bob Dylan was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on May 24, 1941. For six troubled months, Bob attended the University of Minnesota on a scholarship. But like so many of the restless, questioning students of his generation, the formal confines of college couldn't hold him. "I didn't agree with school," he says.

There are cities melted furnace unexpectedly we watched with faces hidden as the walls were tightening. As the echo of the wedding bells before the blowing rain dissolved into the bells of the lightning. Tolling for the rebel tolling for the rake tolling for the luckless they are bound and damned forsaked tolling for the outcasts burning constantly at stake and we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Six months after The Beatles paid tribute to Bob Dylan on the album cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Dylan released the album John Wesley Harding on December 27, 1967. A long-recurring rumor is that Dylan returned the favor and included the faces of The Beatles on the album cover hidden in the knots on the tree. The photo was taken by John Berg in Woodstock, New York in the yard of Dylan’s manager Albert Grossman. To see the faces of The Beatles you must turn the album cover upside down and focus.
