Univers Zero - 1313 album FLAC

1313 is the first album by Belgian RIO band Univers Zero released in 1977. The original vinyl release (and 2008 remix by Didier de Roos, with bonus live track) was simply titled Univers Zero – it acquired the name 1313 because of its original catalog number. The name stuck due to its connection with the later Present release entitled Triskaidekaphobie (fear of the number 13). All tracks written by Daniel Denis, except where noted. Michel Berckmans: bassoon. Daniel Denis: percussion.

Only for completionists (2%). UNIVERS ZERO managed to masterfully infuse these genres on their first album 1313 in a strange way that took the chamber rock antecedents from musical entities like Art Zoyd and Henry Cow, classical ones from Bartok and Stravinsky and free-jazz like constructions that actually had patterns to them and create interesting yet peculiar musical developments that always lead somewhere that makes total. sense once the mystery of where they go has been presented. UNIVERS ZERO created a musical masterpiece with this first album that interested me upon first listen and still does time and time again.

Univers zero personnel 2004 Univers Zero 2004. The music takes on a more personal expression, largely due to the new compositions contributed by TRIGAUX and DENIS. After a number of line-up changes, the overall sound is augmented by a harmonium and a harpsichord (played by Emmanuel NICAISE) and a second violin (Marcel DUFRANE). UZ has now found the right balance in its combination of acoustic and electric instruments. The resulting debut album „1313 is entirely self-produced. In 1978 UZ joins four other groups from different countries (HENRY COW, SAMLA MAMMAS MANNA, STORMY SIX, ETRON FOU LELOUBLANC) to set up „ROCK IN OPPOSITION. A number of concerts abroad follow, some of them in a combined line-up with ART ZOYD in France. In 1979 UZ record their second album, „HERESIE.

Some very peculiar rock music hybrids emerged in the 1970s, but none was any more peculiar than Univers Zero, a classically influenced group of primarily Belgian musicians. Sometimes compared to the slightly earlier and enormously influential King Crimson, Univers Zero was actually much more extreme.

Studio album by Univers Zéro. 1313 is the first album by Belgian RIO band Univers Zero released in 1977.

Formed in Brussels in 1974, Univers Zero (a name derived from an apocalyptic sf novel) made their recording debut in 1977 as a unique septet comprising bassoon, violin, viola, harmonium, bass guitar, electric guitar, and drums. Under the leadership of er Daniel Denis, the group integrates influences as diverse as the French avant-rock ensemble Magma, the oboe-fronted Third Ear Band, Balkan folk music, Bela Bartok, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Albert Huybrechts. In 1984, 1313 was reissued and remixed by Cryonic Records; Cryonic's brighter mix appeared on Cuneiform's 1989 CD release of the album. Long-term fans have cited the Atem mix as the best presentation of the music. This remaster brings out detail, subtleties of timbre, and chthonic bass missing from its initial CD incarnation.
