The Flaming Lips - Hear It Is album FLAC
Hear It Is is the debut studio album by American rock band The Flaming Lips, released on January 21, 1986 by Restless Records. It marked the official debut of Wayne Coyne on vocals after the departure of his brother Mark Coyne. In an early interview, the band claimed that the back cover was an image of drummer Richard English's eye when he was on acid. All tracks written by The Flaming Lips, except where noted. Wayne Coyne – lead vocals, guitars. Mike Ivins – bass, backing vocals.
Tracks 12-16 are from the mini-album The Flaming Lips. 1985 Lovely Sorts Of Death Records. 1986 Enigma Entertainment Corporation. 1987 Enigma Entertainment Corporation.
Hearing Hear It Is years later, after all the band had done up to the new century, makes for an almost surreal experience. No swirling orchestral parts, no Beach Boys-on-Mars homages, even Wayne Coyne's immediately recognizable cracked fracture of a voice isn't present. Instead, it's raunchy fun or calmer but not too wracked ruminations from Coyne, with music to match. The gentle acoustic strumming that starts the album on "With You" or the steady pace and mournful singing on "Godzilla Flick" shows that subtlety was as much a part of the game as stomping, fried electric guitar insanity.

The Flaming Lips fuse together so many different genres and in result you get an energetic, raw, 80's punk/psychadelica album. Wayne Coyne's vocals fit the album very well. Throughout his yelling, wailing, paranoid whispering, and sometimes singing he actually fits in almost perfectly. The amazing thing about Coyne is that he can go from a soft, gentle whisper and just explode into what sounds like a crazy man who had a too much whiskey. Overall I would say that this is a good album, but not one of the Lips best. Although Hear It Is contains some psychadelic gems it definately isn't for anyone. If you are a Flaming Lips fan than you should pick this up but if you want to get into the band don't start here. This is a raw, trippy acid-psychadelic album that has dark dreary moments and some crazy rock moments. I would recommend this for any fans of psychadlic music or any fans of alt/rock.
The Flaming Lips is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The group recorded several albums and EPs on an indie label, Restless, in the 1980s and early 1990s. After signing to Warner Brothers, they released their first record with Warner, Hit to Death in the Future Head (1992). They later released The Soft Bulletin (1999), which was NME magazine's Album of the Year, and then Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (2002)
The first album, Hear It Is, arrived in early 1986, shortly after Coyne replaced his brother Mark on vocals. While admittedly amateurish, it is also surprisingly fun and purposeful in the way of debuts by young bands unsure if they’ll ever get to make another. The songs boast loud, crude, bashing riffs ( Unplugged, Trains, Brains, And Rain ) and endearingly off-key vocals; the lyrics already exhibit Coyne’s enduring fascinations with Jesus, religion, evil and mortality. It took two years for the Lips to produce a follow-up. Longer, heavier, and easily the spottiest of the band’s early records, Telepathic Surgery was initially intended to center around a 30-minute avant-noise sound collage. Should’ve taken that Revolution 9 sample as a warning.
