Jacob Hutto - Where's The Humanity? album FLAC
Got it. + add. album. In his newest series of releases, Sam Spence collaborates with a different producer to create a month-based album. In the case of January, Spence had asked Jacob Hutto for a collaboration, who responded with mere, minimal field recordings. The result? Two elongated songs, initially feeling like a loving, natural memory, before slowly decaying into overwhelming walls of panic, noise, endlessly crescendoing into complete and utter chaos. J B Hutto was into flashy suits, ear-splitting slide-guitar and passionate live performance designed to stir your soul, making every JB gig an emotional event. JB was always a popular guest on the Festival circuit but it was in the clubs, where he could take his anarchic spirit right into the audience, he truly excelled. His 1973 album ‘Slide-winder’ sold well but JB was shocked when his friend and fellow Elmore devotee ‘Hound Dog’ Taylor died in 1975. Hound Dog’s’ Houserockers, Brewer Phillips and Ted Harvey, took JB as their frontman for a while to keep the ‘Hound Dog’s’ spirit alive, and they recorded a few tracks at Boston’s Tea Party event in 1977.
Hutto served as a draftee in the Korean War in the early 1950s, driving trucks in combat zones. In Chicago, Hutto took up the drums and played with Johnny Ferguson and his Twisters. He also played the piano before settling on the guitar and performing on the streets with the percussionist Eddie "Porkchop" Hines. Later in the 1950s Hutto became disenchanted with performing and gave it up after a woman broke his guitar over her husband's head one night in a club where he was playing. For the next eleven years he worked as a janitor in a funeral home to supplement his income. He returned to the music industry in the mid-1960s, with a new version of the Hawks featuring Herman Hassell on bass and Frank Kirkland on drums. His recording career resumed with a session for Vanguard Records, released on the compilation album. Chicago/The Blues/Today!
